About Us

Understanding organizations and people need skills that can be used immediately to translate trauma information into trauma informed care, Dr. Fialon, herself an adoptee who experienced 2 foster placements in the first 30 days of her life before being adopted, researched how organizations could implement trauma care for sustained change. In her research she came to know author and community advocate, Shenandoah Chefalo.

Shenandoah spent nearly 20 years as a Law Office Administrator and became unsettled by the ever-revolving door of the criminal justice system, and set out to find a way to change it. She attended Coach U and became a certified life coach. Working through that program, Shenandoah began to understand her own foster-care childhood in a way she never had before. Together they realized it was their mission to orchestrate sustainable, implemented trauma care within organizations and they formed Good Harbor Institute. They found this work also had powerful applications for businesses, K-12 schools, and college/universities.

Shenandoah Chefalo and Dr. Fialon are committed to translating evidence based trauma information into real skills for sustained change.
